It’s National Wildlife Week!

National Wildlife Week is a time to celebrate the beauty and diversity of our nation’s incredible wildlife.

Right now, there are 12,000+ species in North America in need of proactive conservation efforts and another 1,600+ species that are already listed as threatened or endangered. Plastic pollution is only one of the threats they face, which is why we need urgent and immediate action to conserve and protect our wildlife.

Here are just a few things you can do to celebrate National Wildlife Week and help protect our incredible wildlife:

  • • Write, call, and use social media to urge others to protect wildlife, act on climate, and commit to conservation
  • • Plant native species to promote biodiversity and provide habitat for local wildlife; this is especially great for pollinators like bees, birds, and butterflies
  • • Consider making a donation to our partner of the month, One Tree Planted, a nonprofit organization that plants one tree for every dollar donated; there are many projects to support, but if you’d like to plant trees that help our oceans, we suggest mangroves because these blue-carbon ecosystems provide habitat for countless marine species
  • • Get outside, reconnect with nature, and observe your local wildlife; if you can’t get outside, go online and research which animals in your area need help and find ways to get involved
  • • Volunteer with wildlife organizations and other clean ocean organizations or donate supplies or whatever you can to support their important work
  • • Shop our awareness bracelets; every bracelet purchased pulls one pound of trash from the ocean and helps raise awareness about animals and ecosystems impacted by plastic pollution

Get ready for Earth Day and invest in our planet with our bracelet of the month

We released our Earth Day 2022 Bracelet in partnership with One Tree Planted to raise awareness about the importance of protecting and restoring blue-carbon ecosystems like mangrove forests, which can help reverse the effects of climate change by absorbing excess atmospheric carbon and provide habitat for endangered wildlife all around the world. This limited edition is only available while supplies last, so get yours today and help us spread the word!
