When you purchase the Sea Turtle 2-Pound Pack, which features both our beaded and braided bracelet styles, you’ll pull two pounds of trash from the ocean, rivers, and coastlines while raising awareness about the urgent need to protect these ancient and vulnerable animals.

Our aim is to eliminate waste at the end of our product lifecycle by taking back 4ocean products that our customers no longer use so they can be properly recycled or transformed into new products. Once you’re done with your 4ocean product, please reach out to our customer service team to receive a prepaid shipping label.
The 4ocean Closed-Loop Program is only available in the U.S. for now, but we plan to expand in the future.

Sea turtles could vanish but plastic won’t

It’s estimated that over half of all sea turtles have ingested some form of plastic in their lifetime. When plastic is in the water where sea turtles feed, they can easily mistake the trash for food. Ingesting ocean plastic can cause internal blockages that often lead to starvation or death.
The risk of plastic ingestion is especially high for sea turtle hatchlings that encounter microplastic pollution in the sargassum, or floating patches of algae, where they live and feed during their first weeks of life.
Sea turtles that avoid eating ocean plastic are still at significant risk of becoming entangled in ghost nets, buoy lines, and other plastic fishing gear, which can cause severe injuries that lead to infection or death.
If we are going to save sea turtles, we must end the overproduction and overconsumption of plastic that’s polluting our oceans, support sustainable fisheries, and establish more marine protected areas.

As soon as our beads, cords, and charms reach our main facility in Denpasar, Bali, a crew loads up our van and motorbikes to distribute these components to artisans in remote villages scattered across the island.
Women comprise 80 percent of this workforce. In Bali, women tend to assume the role of primary caretakers for their families, which means their job opportunities are limited. Because they’re able to hand assemble our bracelets in their homes and village centers, more women are able to join the workforce while continuing to care for their families.
