From Super Bowl Rings to Saving the Seas: How Team Brady is Racing for Change
Dominic Manzo, 4ocean Content Producer
In this episode of Can Business Save the Planet, 4ocean co-founder Alex Schulze sits down with Ben King and Joe Sturdy from Team Brady to explore how electric boat racing is helping protect our ocean.
Team Brady, founded by Tom Brady, is making serious waves in the E1 World Championship, the world’s first all-electric powerboat racing league. These futuristic vessels don’t just look like something out of Star Wars. They fly above the water on hydrofoils, using powerful electric motors that are fast, efficient, and nearly silent below the surface.
But this isn’t just about high-speed racing. Through their Race for Change campaign, Team Brady is partnering with 4ocean Foundation to remove 220 pounds of plastic from the ocean for every championship point they earn. With just a few races complete, they’ve already committed to removing over 10,000 pounds of plastic, and the season is just getting started.
In this episode, Ben and Joe share how the E1 Series is bringing together top athletes, engineers, and ocean advocates to push boundaries in both sport and sustainability. From reducing marine noise pollution to creating real impact through partnerships, E1 is building something much bigger than a racing league.
