Constructing a more sustainable future with Kingspan

Dominic Manzo, 4ocean Content Producer

In this episode of Can Business Save the Planet, 4ocean co-founder Alex Schulze sits down with Bianca, Tom, and Jaya from Kingspan to explore how a global leader in building materials is embedding sustainability into every layer of its business. From pioneering insulation and renewable energy solutions to investing in ocean cleanup partnerships, Kingspan is showing how industry can lead the way toward a more sustainable future.

But Kingspan’s impact goes beyond buildings. Through its Planet Passionate Partnerships initiative, the company collaborates with organizations tackling ocean plastic at the source. Their support for 4ocean, for example, has already helped remove tens of thousands of pounds of plastic from waterways. Kingspan chose 4ocean for its transparency, data-driven reporting, and innovative river boom technology, which stops plastic before it can flow into the ocean without disturbing local biodiversity.

Bianca shares how her career at Kingspan evolved from a technical advisory role in Australia to a strategic position bridging sustainability, digital transformation, and brand strategy. That intersection, she explains, is powerful because true change comes when innovation and purpose align.

For ocean athletes Tom and Jaya, the mission is personal. Spending every day on the water, they see firsthand how plastic pollution affects marine environments. “It wouldn’t work to represent a brand that wasn’t aligned with sustainability,” Tom explains. Bianca emphasizes that this is just the beginning. “Sustainability is a continuous journey,” she says. “We want to be open about both the challenges and the progress.”
