It would be no surprise if the term 'picturesque' originated here due to the oceanic and mountainous hues only dreams are made of. From the cascading waterfalls that seem to defy gravity to the vibrant coral gardens teeming with life beneath crystal-clear waters, the island of Mo’orea is not just a destination; it’s a collection of the most exquisite elements Mother Nature has to offer.
While in the tropics of the South Pacific, many might enjoy adventurous activities like surfing, swimming with sharks or watching humpback whales breach. However, we found ourselves traveling to Mo’orea for a different kind of adventure.
It may seem unusual, but we were there to meet up with a group of gardeners. Not your typical squash and zucchini gardeners, these gardeners specialize in caring for coral reefs.
These ocean warriors belong to an organization called the Coral Gardeners, where their crew takes care of one of the most biodiverse ecosystems on the planet, which is vital for the planet's health and well-being.
At 4ocean, one of our highest priorities is to make sustainability cool, and what better way to do that than to collaborate with such a unique and like-minded company? It only makes sense: We clean plastic out of the ocean, and they restore the reefs below the surface.
We wanted to learn more about the incredible work Coral Gardeners do to help our planet and give people all over the world the chance to support our causes. So that’s exactly what we did. We collaborated with Coral Gardeners to create the Coral Restoration Collection. Each bracelet not only removes five pounds of plastic and trash from our oceans, rivers, and coastlines but also plants one coral back onto reefs around the world.
